THE SECRET TO SEARCHING AND KNOWING ROTHY'S CURRENT INVENTORY LEVELS:

-- Learn all the details on how to do this in this post here!

FLAGSHIP STORE EXCLUSIVES - San Francisco:

-- (Outdated Information) Rothy's flagship San Francisco store is currently their only retail location. According to Rothy's, they release 100 pairs per style and color of their store-exclusive designs. This store also carries a mix of other styles/colors that are currently available online. San Francisco Flagship exclusives also specifically have tiny red hearts embroidered on the sides along with blue initials of "SF" for San Francisco. Purchases at this store are now limited to one style per person.

-- (Updated) Rothy's now has many retail locations. The tiny red embroidered hearts has since ceased on most pairs. Limitations on pairs have since changed.

EMBROIDERY:

-- Rothy's San Francisco Flagship store now offers a hand-embroidery option. Current characters include A-Z, 1-0, an outlined heart, exclamation point, question mark, hashtag, and lightning bolt. Thread colors currently include: pink, red, orange, yellow, green, blue, black, white.

OTHER EXCLUSIVES (Limited Editions and Third-Party Exclusives):

-- Rothy's pattern of exclusive releases include only releasing a limited amount of shoes and/or for a limited time. In which, they have been known to completely pulled exclusives from their website and third-party exclusives (such as their 2018 Nordstrom Gift Drop Collection) after a certain amount of time, vowing to never re-stock any returns or exchanges. So if there is wording such as "exclusive" or "limited edition", it is not advised to wait as certain sizes and styles may be completely pulled and have even been known to sell out within hours.

FAKES:

-- Unfortunately, you have to be aware of sellers selling Rothy's look-alikes on selling platforms such as eBay, Poshmark, etc. We'll have a complete guide on how to spot fakes linked here soon. However, if it's a color/pattern/style you've never seen Rothy's sell before and if you're pretty well-aware of all of the past styles and colors, it is likely a fake. To help avoid this, do not be afraid to ask for more photos of the actual shoes being sold from the seller. A non-response or stock images only may be a red flag.

-- Dead giveaway: Some fakes will have a space between the n and a in China on the inner tag. It will look something like this: Made in Chin a

POKING/SCRATCHING:

-- If you have some excess glue on your shoe that is poking or rubbing your foot, you can try a nail file, clippers or a buffer to help with the excess dried glue that may be causing this. I personally find the buffer works better, plus I have accidentally clipped a little too much with clippers that caused some fraying so be careful with this one!

CLEANING YOUR ROTHY'S:

-- One of the best things about Rothy's besides their comfort is the fact that they are washable. We wash ours in cold water on either a delicate setting using mesh laundry bags or by hand. We remove the insoles and wash them in a separate laundry bag. Never put your Rothy's in the dryer and always use cold water. If you happen to get gum on the bottom of your Rothy's, put some ice in a Ziplock bag and press it firmly against the bottom of the shoe until the gum is frozen. When the gum is frozen it will harden, making it easier to remove.

PREVENTING DAMAGE:

-- Rothy's are made of water bottles and water bottles are made of plastic. Therefore, try to keep your Rothy's away from any heat sources such as floor heaters, etc. just as a precaution. It also gets really hot in the summer and vehicles get even hotter, therefore as a precaution, I make it a point to never leave my shoes in the direct sunlight in my vehicle, or I throw them in my bag just in case.

RE-RELEASES & VOTE-BACKS:
It is a reoccurring theme that re-release insoles have blue stitching and blue Rothy's logo embroidery. Also, the insoles on the re-releases match the exact color of the shoe. For example, the original Orchid Points had a black insole with a white "Rothy's" logo embroidery, but the re-releases came with a matching orchid colored insole with blue "Rothy's" logo embroidery. Also, the original Charcoal Birdseye Flats had a black insole with white "Rothy's" logo embroidery and the re-release came with matching charcoal insoles with blue "Rothy's" logo embroidery. This is important when distinguishing original releases vs. secondary releases which may affect resale values. Some may say a brand new pair of the originals have more value to them than the re-release. However, be aware that the re-release insole could easily be switched out by a reseller who has purchased a solid black insole extra ($10) directly from Rothy's.

SIZING:

-- If your in-between sizes or if a shoe is too loose, try adding another pair of Rothy's in-soles on top of the in-soles it already came with! (you can also purchase extras here: ). Of course you can literally add any in-sole brands or lifts that you want from standard to custom made ones.

-- If your in-between sizes and the next size up is too loose, take the smaller size and try a shoe stretcher. Check out these shoe stretchers here on Amazon!

-- The best advice we can personally give about Rothy's Points (specifically) is that they are naturally narrow at the tip and for us,  going up an entire full size has proven to be the most comfortable.

-- This one really isn't a secret as Rothy's themselves suggest it, but before you wear them out and they can no longer be returned after worn, be sure to wear them around the house for the day to make sure they don't rub (the perfect size and correctly-produced pair will never leave marks on your feet).

-- I personally believe not all Rothy's pairs are made consistently in size. I have been told that this is because of the dyes used on different colors and styles, but sometimes not all sizes of the same style fit alike either. Meaning, I also have noticed that not all of the same sizes in the same style fit the same. I have literally exchanged an uncomfortable pair of certain size/style/color for exactly the same size/style/color to have the exchange feel sooooo much better!

Which leads us to this next one....

-- Most importantly, "If it doesn't feel like buttah, exchange it for anotha". No, I wasn't drinking when I came up with this one (or maybe I was), but I think it's my personal motto for how Rothy's *should* fit you. If a pair doesn't feel comfortable after wearing them around the house (even if you already have another pair of Rothy's in the same style and size) don't give up, and exchange them for another of the same size or a different size. They SHOULD seriously feel like buttah (I describe the perfect pair as feeling like slippers) on your feet!
